Standards” subtitle=”Our high standards ensure quality over quantity, one job at a time. We decided long ago that set pricing for fence building is not fair to us or our customers.”][faq_section id1=”2″ title=”2. Material” subtitle=”We make sure to use the highest quality material on every job. We purchase our material from wholesale distributors located right here in Houston, we do not purchase material from the big box stores.”][faq_section id1=”3″ title=”3. How do you take payment?” subtitle=”We take payment in installments via cash, or PayPal.”][faq_section id1=”4″ title=”4. Does weather make a difference in the timeline?” subtitle=”While we do our best to work in the elements as part of an outdoor business, there are some things beyond our control. We do have weather related work stoppages as all companies do but actively try to mitigate it with scheduling and proper planning.”][faq_section id1=”5″ title=”5. How do we tear out the old fence” subtitle=”On day 1 of the project we’ll tear out and haul away the old fence. We start by cutting the panels in half to make it easier to dispose. We then cut each post at ground level and break up any concrete which may be visible from the old fence. Depending on the circumstances of the job, sometimes we have to pull the post out of the ground with the concrete, this is common on corner post or post which may be set next to the house. Some may think it would be easier to pull out the old post and use the same holes. Typically pulling out the old post with the old concrete takes alot more time. Also, this would require twice as much concrete to use the same hole. Our rule of thumb is to avoid pulling post unless it’s necessary to ensure the job is done correctly.”][faq_section id1=”6″ title=”6. How do we set our post” subtitle=”Our general rule of thumb for a 6′ fence is to set the post no less than 2′ in the ground with 1 #80 bag of concrete; adding extra if needed. To ensure the fence is sturdy we set our post a minimum distance of 7′, center post to center post.”][faq_section id1=”7″ title=”7. How do we build our fence structures” subtitle=”The structure of your fence is extremely important during the initial installation. We build our structures with 3 rails. We install a 2“ x 4“ x 14′ or 16′ pressure treated board on the top of the post, we also call this our top rail. Each top rail will connect 3 post together which helps strengthen the overall structure of the fence. We then add a middle rail and a bottom rail, each being a 2“ x 4“ x 7′ pressure treated board.”][faq_section id1=”8″ title=”8. How do we locate underground lines” subtitle=”Once we confirm a start date for your project we will submit a locator request for your property. After the request is submitted it typically takes the local service providers 3 days to fully complete the locator request. Each provider will use markings to mark any lines that may be underground within our working area.”][faq_section id1=”9″ title=”9. Does Astro Outdoor Designs offer a warranty” subtitle=”Yes, and that is one of the most important questions you can ask a fence company before making your final selection. We offer a 3-year workmanship warranty on all of our fencing installations.”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
